In late June 2026, Togo took a step toward acceding to four international conventions of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA): the National Assembly adopted the bills authorizing this accession. This move is part of the strengthening of the national nuclear safety framework, as Togo has served on the IAEA Board of Governors since 2025.
